Prague prepares for four nights of spectacular light installations, digital art and immersive experiences as Signal Festival returns from 15 to 18 October 2026.
Prague is about to become even more magical after dark. Signal Festival, one of the Czech Republic’s most exciting cultural events, will transform the city’s historic streets, architectural landmarks and public spaces into a spectacular open-air gallery of light, sound and digital art.
The 14th edition of the festival will take place under the theme Dream On! Dreams and Visions, exploring the boundaries between reality, imagination and modern technology. This year’s programme features 21 installations by Czech and international artists, offering visitors a unique way to experience Prague beyond its traditional tourist attractions.
One of the biggest highlights this year is the introduction of a new festival route in Dejvice, joining the traditional route through Prague’s city centre. Together, the two routes will take visitors on a journey through different parts of the city, combining historic architecture, contemporary creativity and impressive technological installations.
Among the most anticipated attractions is Scattered Light by American artist Jim Campbell, featuring 1,500 LED lights that create the illusion of human figures suspended in darkness. Another remarkable installation by Taiwanese artist Aka Chang will bring a ten-metre-high laser artwork to the Vltava River, creating a striking interplay of light and reflection.
In Prague’s historic centre, the façade of the Old Town Hall will become the setting for Living in Truth, a video-mapping project by Ukrainian artist Svitlana Reinish inspired by the ideas and legacy of Václav Havel. The programme also includes immersive audiovisual experiences, interactive artworks and spectacular projections on historic buildings.
Signal Festival is not only an event for art enthusiasts. It is also a wonderful opportunity for visitors to discover Prague from a different perspective, explore its streets after dark and see familiar landmarks transformed by contemporary art.
Families can enjoy special activities for children, while the new Student Visions zone will showcase creative projects developed by students in Prague. Additional events include Signal Forum, an international conference dedicated to digital and creative culture, and a series of official afterparties.
One of the festival’s greatest advantages is that much of the experience is free. Of the 21 installations, 13 are publicly accessible, while eight indoor installations belong to the ticketed Signal INSIDE programme.
Dates: 15–18 October 2026
Opening hours: 19:00–00:00 daily
Location: Various locations across Prague
Routes: Prague city centre and Dejvice
Admission: Most outdoor installations are free; tickets are required for Signal INSIDE.
Visitors are encouraged to plan their route in advance and allow enough time to explore both areas. The festival can attract large crowds, particularly between 19:00 and 21:00, so visiting later in the evening may provide a more relaxed experience.
