Prague continues to enchant the world.
Last year, the Czech capital welcomed more than 8.27 million visitors, reaffirming its place among Europe’s most magnetic travel destinations. According to the Czech Statistical Office, tourism grew steadily, with visitor numbers rising by nearly three percent year on year—a quiet but confident signal of Prague’s enduring appeal.
While domestic travelers still make up roughly one fifth of all arrivals, it is international tourism that truly fuels the city’s rhythm.
Germany remained Prague’s strongest source market, sending close to one million visitors, followed closely by travelers from the United States and the United Kingdom, each contributing just over half a million guests.
One of the most striking trends is the strong return of Asian tourism, now accounting for more than 12 percent of all arrivals. The revival of long-haul air connections has reopened the city to distant markets, and the response has been enthusiastic. South Korea led the surge with over 185,000 visitors, marking a solid nine percent increase, while Japan made an impressive comeback, with arrivals jumping by more than 20 percent.
From historic streets to iconic landmarks, Prague isn’t just holding its place on the global travel map—it’s quietly expanding its reach, welcoming travelers back with timeless elegance.
